Accelerated payment illustration
Pay half the monthly amount every two weeks. At a constant 4.39% rate, you could save $67,147 in lifetime interest and finish about 3.3 years earlier.
Lifetime savings assume the same rate throughout the mortgage. Actual renewal rates, lender rounding and prepayment terms will affect the result.
Assumptions, sources & limitations
Canadian semi-annual fixed compounding; principal and interest only. Property tax, insurance, condo fees and mortgage insurance premiums are excluded unless included in entered principal. Rates held constant for illustrations, including lifetime accelerated-payment estimates; future renewal rates will differ. Accelerated biweekly = half the monthly payment, 26 times yearly. Variable mortgages and HELOC interest use different conventions and are not modelled. Loan amortization/insurance eligibility is not assessed. Rules reviewed 2026-10-20.
Payment presets come from the existing Kraft rate feed and never overwrite a manual rate edit. Use your lender’s actual fixed rate. This is an estimate, not a qualification or rate commitment.
